Freelance Data Modeler Position

The ideal candidate for this freelance data modeling role is an experienced professional with a strong background in statistical modeling and data analysis. With a minimum of 6+ years of experience, they will be responsible for building, validating, and maintaining complex statistical/predictive models using SAS and Python.

  • Data Modeling: Developing and implementing statistical models to drive business insights and optimize processes
  • Migration Expertise: Leading the transition of existing SAS code to Python, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
  • Code Optimization: Converting SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into efficient Python equivalents
  • Best Practices: Establishing standards and guidelines for modeling, coding, and performance monitoring
  • Tech Guidance: Guiding team members on Python adoption, coding best practices, and analytics workflows

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

  • SAS Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, and macros
  • Python Proficiency: Proficiency in pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, and PySpark (bonus)
  • Statistical Knowledge: Strong understanding of regression, forecasting, clustering, classification, A/B testing, and causal inference
  • Migration Experience: Proven success in leading large-scale SAS to Python transitions
  • Leadership Ability: Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-impact results
