Estimation Specialist

Job Overview:

This is a key role that involves delivering accurate and timely cost estimations for HVAC, DDC, and PLC systems to support sales efforts and project planning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate project specifications, technical requirements, and scope of work to understand client needs and objectives.
  2. Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to determine suitable solutions for integrating control systems with HVAC systems, DDC systems, and PLCs.
  3. Ensure design integrity by validating proposed technical solutions align with the RFQ stage shared designs.
  4. Utilize industry knowledge and estimation software tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, DDC, and PLC systems.
  5. Refine estimation methodologies and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure estimation inputs align with execution strategies and project timelines.
  7. Provide support to Project and Operations teams in reviewing cost and design assumptions post-award.
  8. Assist in developing proposals, bids, and tender documents by providing accurate cost estimates and technical insights.
  9. Prepare comprehensive documentation including supplier quotations, BOQs, compliance sheets, and pricing breakdowns.
  10. Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors to address inquiries, clarify technical details, and negotiate terms related to cost estimates and project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in automation or HVAC-related estimation.
  • Functional skills: Cost estimation, document formatting, proposal drafting, RFQ analysis, process improvement.
  • Competency areas: Estimation & Costing, Technical Coordination, Proposal Development, Communication, Problem Solving, Process Optimization.
