Job Description:

Our organization is seeking a skilled professional to lead the migration of our legacy platform to a modern architecture. This project involves migrating our legacy UI systems to Spring Boot microservices and hosting UI pages on AWS, while also driving code refactoring, upgrades, security, and resilience improvements, monitoring, and other operational enhancements.

This is a short-term project lasting approximately 6 months, working as a contractor with one of the largest global technology leaders. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining highly available, resilient, and secure production systems on AWS Cloud, migrating legacy UI systems to our new microservice architecture, upgrading legacy Java applications to Springboot applications ensuring high-quality and secure code, testing, documenting, and quality-proofing your work, maintaining CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment processes, troubleshooting issues, supporting production deployments, operations, and maintenance activities, monitoring metrics, and identifying ways to improve logging, reporting, and alerting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with Java and related frameworks such as Spring/Springboot.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with JavaScript and related frameworks (including old frameworks like Backbone.js/Marionette.js, jQuery).
  • Experience with CI/CD practices, build, and deployment technologies (e.g., Maven, Jenkins, Docker).
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • Experience working in production with AWS Cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Search).
  • Understanding of security concepts and vulnerability management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills – you are pragmatic and know how to build trust.
