About our speech therapy role

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team of special educators. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), providing instructional support tailored to students' unique needs, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, managing student behaviour effectively, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Individualised Therapy Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Work closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain detailed records and comply with all regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist.
  • 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
  • Patience, empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
