Dimensional Management Expert Wanted

We are seeking an experienced Dimensional Management professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and 6-8 years of experience in the automobile industry, specifically in Body in White domain & Exterior/Interior.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of 3D tolerance simulation tool usage, deep knowledge of GD&T and SPC, and manufacturing process knowledge in Body in White. Additionally, they should have assembly operations understanding in automobiles and different measurement system and inspection method knowledge.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Define measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications for Body in White components and exterior trims in line with styling and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure the robustness of measurement systems from part fabrication to complete BiW.
  • Analyze functional requirements of Body in White and create measurement strategies for module fitment.
  • Discuss and align tolerance concepts with stakeholders.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up studies (1D, 2D, or 3D) during development phases to identify potential risks in production and provide solutions in terms of measurement strategy, alignment strategy, tolerance specification, assembly sequence, or design.
  • Execute tolerance simulations in 3DCS to replicate the production process digitally, using correct probability distributions related to manufacturing processes and validate concept robustness.
  • Ensure quality and timelines of every delivery in the project.
  • Create Gap & Flush plans and concepts to ensure visual quality of the vehicle.
  • Discuss cross-functional teams feedback and provide solutions.
  • Create and align sub-module integration concepts to ensure fitment and fulfill production planning requirements.
  • Create and align closure integration concepts in line with gap & flush plans to fulfill requirements.
Qualifications
  • Good understanding of 3D tolerance simulation tool usage (3DCS preferred).
  • Deep understanding of GD&T and SPC.
  • Understanding of perceived quality.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge in Body in White.
  • Assembly operations understanding in automobiles.
  • Different measurement system and inspection method knowledge.
  • Working proficiency in NX.
