Staff Data Engineer

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end data-centric solutions that meet customer needs. You will work with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve our technical solutions and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to improve engineering standards and drive better technical outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our technical solutions and processes, and develop strategies to address them.
  • Design and implement ETL solutions using approved frameworks and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to client guidelines.
  • Participate in agile project lifecycles, from ideation to implementation.
  • Adhere to industry best practices and the Code of Conduct.
  • Influence stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, secure, and highly available.
  • Uplift the quality of technical solutions through continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to delivery planning and guide team members in achieving technical deliveries aligned with engineering direction.
    • Role model a continuous improvement mindset and demonstrate strong mentorship capabilities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in ETL pipeline building with Spark or Scala programming framework, UNIX Shell Script, Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Cloudera Hadoop (Apache Spark, Hive), and Autosys JIL.
  • Experience in Big Data platform for ETL development with AWS cloud platform.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and Cloud Watch.
  • Hands-on experience with Teradata data warehouses and Enterprise Analytics/BI/DW/ETL technologies such as Teradata Control Framework, Tableau.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Well-regarded Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle SQL database performance tuning and relational model analysis.
  • Experience working within a Data Delivery Life Cycle framework and Agile Methodology.
  • Experience working with Snowflake and Python-based framework development.
  • Knowledge of using AI tools, self-starter, autonomous working, and problem-solving skills.

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology is preferred but not required.
