Senior Hosting Product Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in 24x7 shifts to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor product stability using internal tools and troubleshoot issues.
  • Own L1/L2 support for all hosting products, including cpanel/plesk/vps/cloud/dedicated.
  • Handle incident response, fix various products/services issues and escalate as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with teams about tickets and phone calls regarding issues.
  • Exhibit urgency in resolving issues and collaborate with internal/external groups to resolve production site issues effectively.
  • Build advanced automation workflows for repeated issues and deploy/maintain Linux/Windows servers using automated scripts and runbooks.
  • Meet SLA's and operational standards.
  • Raise tickets to internal groups to resolve recurrent problems and follow up on escalated issues.
  • Liaison with engineering teams for RCA's and permanent resolutions on issues affecting production sites.
  • Contribute to Operations handbook.
  • Ensure smooth hand-offs between shifts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Consistently strong academic performance.
  • Good understanding of Linux Systems, Shell/Bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter.
  • Fundamentals: Basic DNS & Networking, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts.
  • Application Protocols: SMTP, HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP.
  • Shifts: Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and holidays.
