We are looking for a highly skilled engineer with 10+ years of strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience on public cloud platforms specifically AWS or GCP. You should have 4+ years of strong hands-on experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting large-scale Kubernetes clusters in the public cloud, as well as experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Helm.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with automation and scripting using Python and/or bash scripting, knowledge of microservices fundamentals including Service Mesh using Istio, service discovery, deployment strategies, monitoring, scheduling, and load balancing. Additionally, you should have excellent problem-solving, triaging, and debugging skills in large-scale distributed systems.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to set technical direction, author design docs, and get consensus from internal and external partners. You will also collaborate with other team leaders to orchestrate large system changes, mentor new engineers to achieve more than they thought possible, and work on infrastructure projects such as adopting new cloud-native frameworks and services, automating cloud provider infrastructure via Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm, developing code for tools and automation to reduce manual tasks and reduce human error, establishing and documenting run books and guidelines for using the multi-cloud infrastructure and microservices platform.

As a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Splunk Inc, you can expect a competitive salary of $250,000 per year, depending on your location.
