Job Title: Data Platform Architect

This role involves leading the planning and execution of large-scale database projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data storage and management, with expertise in tools such as Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) and Apache Kafka.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing database systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement secure database security structures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Design and maintain high-availability clusters using CDP, ensuring optimal performance
  • Administer and monitor Kafka clusters, including topic management, performance tuning, and security
  • Perform database administration tasks for Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL systems, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning
  • Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting and Ansible for deployment, monitoring, and configuration management
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize data pipelines and ensure data integrity across platforms
  • Implement security best practices across all data platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the data stack in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and a minimum of 6 years' experience in database administration
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies, including HDFS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elastic, and SQL Server
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
