The Lead Data Scientist in this team will be responsible for innovating and developing machine learning and data analytics solutions to build our industry-leading map.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building process automation in HERE Core Map processes employing a scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning.
  • Building and testing analytic and statistical models to improve internal data-driven processes and system control needs.
  • Acting as an expert and evangelist in areas of data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis and modeling.
  • Leading predictive modeling or application teams on Core Map projects.

Requirements include:

  • A master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • Minimum 7+ years related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis, etc.
  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more of these areas.
  • Proficiency with a statistical analysis package and associated scripting language.
  • Programming experience with SQL, shell script, Python, etc.
  • Experience with tools such as Pig, Hive, etc., for working with big data in Hadoop and/or Spark.

Preferred qualifications include development experience with Scala, Docker, GIS data, and NoSQL (i.e. DynamoDB).
