Job Title: Dimensional Management Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced dimensional management specialist to fill this key position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering and extensive experience working in the automobile industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop measurement strategies, tolerance specifications, and locator techniques for Body in White components and exterior trims in line with styling and manufacturing requirements.
  2. Evaluate and ensure the robustness of measurement systems from part fabrication to complete BiW.
  3. Analyze functional requirements of Body in White and create measurement plans for fitment of modules.
  4. Discuss and align tolerance concepts with stakeholders.
  5. Perform tolerance stack-up studies 1D, 2D, or 3D during the development phase to identify potential risks in production and provide solutions.
  6. Execute tolerance simulation using 3DCS software to replicate production processes digitally and validate the robustness of concepts.
  7. Ensure quality and timely delivery of all project tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of 3D tolerance simulation tools, preferably 3DCS.
  • Deep knowledge of GD&T and SPC principles.
  • Understanding of perceived quality concepts.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes in Body in White and assembly operations in automobiles.
  • Working proficiency in NX software.
