Senior Backend Developer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our Messaging Platform team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems that serve millions of daily users and contribute to shaping our growing engineering presence in India.

As a key member of this team, you will collaborate with a talented, diverse group across multiple time zones to build impactful products that directly impact customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-performance backends: Work on our next-generation messaging platform backend, contributing to a system that handles millions of conversations daily.
  • Lead technical initiatives: Guide the design and delivery of new capabilities with a full-stack mindset, taking ownership of projects from conception to launch.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers across different geographies to influence product direction and identify technical solutions.
  • Solve complex challenges: Anticipate scaling challenges and proactively address architecture improvements with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.
  • Mentor and grow others: Support engineers at all levels through design reviews, pairing, and feedback while promoting best practices across teams.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with expertise in major programming web technologies such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
  • Prior experience building distributed backend systems and designing APIs, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  • A track record of leading complex projects across multiple teams.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with frontend development using JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture including Kafka, GraphQL, or gRPC.
  • A background in customer engagement or messaging domains.
  • Active participation in tech communities, open-source projects, or conferences.
