Job Overview:

  • Determines water requirement calculations for Water Supply Schemes and Irrigation pipe distribution network projects.
  • Prepares zone or water user association block, chak planning of project.
  • Develops pipeline layout plans for Water Supply Scheme and Pressurized / Gravity pipe distribution network Irrigation Project.
  • Creates hydraulic designs of Water Supply Scheme and Pressurized / Gravity pipe distribution network Irrigation Project using Water GEMS software.
  • Prepares L-Sections of pipeline design on AutoCAD and E survey Software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates for Water Supply Schemes and Pressurized / Gravity pipe distribution network Irrigation Projects.
  • Develops item-wise bill of quantity of project.
  • Calculates quantity estimation and bar bending schedule from drawings.
  • Obtains design approvals from government departments and vetting institutes.
  • Travels to site/government department for convincing, scrutiny, and approval.
  • Writes reports and makes presentations.

Requirements
  • 8-10 years of experience as a design engineer for water supply pipeline projects or irrigation projects.
  • Must have knowledge of pipeline hydraulics and software used for same (Water GEMS).
  • Must have knowledge of different types of pipes, valves, pumps, design manuals, and relevant IS codes.
  • Must have knowledge of Water GEMS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and E survey Software.
