Director of Finance

About the Role

This is a critical position that involves overseeing all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial activities. You will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and investors to develop and execute financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.

  • Financial Operations:
    • Own and execute all financial operations like payroll processing, vendor payouts, and collections (accounts receivables).
  • Compliance:
    • Oversee and ensure adherence to all statutory compliance requirements, including Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • Financial Planning:
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support the company's strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Cash Management:
    • Oversee the company's cash management, including monitoring cash flow and optimizing working capital.
  • Relationships:
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and auditors.
  • Support Functions:
    • Support fundraising efforts, including developing investor presentations and financial projections.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Drive operational efficiency by monitoring costing activities and identifying saving initiatives.

Requirements for Success in this Role

  • At least 8 years of experience in finance controllership, accounting, or a related field.
  • Prior experience building the finance function from scratch for a scaling SaaS company is beneficial.
  • Able to adapt to uncertainty and be a generalist.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience working in SaaS accounting is an added advantage.
