Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Create innovative semantic search pipelines, graph-based retrieval, and agentic systems to drive our platform forward.
  • Design and deploy scalable APIs and services capable of serving hundreds of concurrent requests, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Develop and implement vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems that improve the efficiency of our core intelligence.
  • Work on GenAI integrations including react agents, graph agents, prompt engineering, and LLM orchestration to unlock new capabilities.
  • Establish full-stack search engines from scratch that can handle real-world academic workloads, streamlining research processes.

This role involves hands-on ownership with a focus on experimentation and productionizing systems that impact thousands of researchers worldwide.

Key Deliverables:

  • Design algorithms that directly accelerate science in medicine, AI, climate, and more.
  • Develop high-performance search and retrieval systems that meet the needs of our users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-powered features into our platform.
  • Pursue research opportunities to advance the state-of-the-art in AI and its applications.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in semantic search, vector databases, LLM frameworks, agent-based systems, and document retrieval.
  • Proficiency in Python for backend development with the ability to build scalable APIs and services.
  • Past experience deploying systems at scale, including search engines, retrieval pipelines, or embedding models.
  • A research-driven and pragmatic mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes.
