Job Title: Sr. Principal Engineer – NVH

Lead a team of engineers responsible for vehicle noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) development.

  • Oversee all phases of delivery throughout the development cycle, from concept to production launch.
  • Guide and track vehicle benchmarking initiatives to establish robust target settings for multiple vehicle programmes.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables:

  • Review and monitor test plans to ensure smooth implementation of NVH suggestions while balancing constraints related to weight and cost.
  • Deliver vehicle and system-level NVH performance targets across multiple domains, including body in white (BIW), sound package, trimmed body, chassis engineering, component frequency measurement (CFM), suspension and tyre NVH, glass and seals, mounts, seats and steering systems.
  • Meet NVH targets for powertrain NVH, road noise, wind noise, bus interior acoustics, thermal NVH and more.
  • Track and plan for NVH risks, deploying effective solutions to secure NVH deliverables on schedule.
  • Anticipate current and future NVH technology needs and capabilities, innovating and establishing new processes and technology frameworks.
  • Participate in subjective jury trials, ensuring alignment with NVH programme targets through comprehensive feedback and continuous improvement.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess between 14 to 18 years of experience in vehicle NVH development, demonstrating a deep understanding of NVH requirements and solutions across various vehicle architectures.
  • Grounded knowledge in vehicle NVH simulation techniques will enable the candidate to effectively predict and improve NVH performance early in the development cycle.
  • Proficiency with advanced NVH analysis tools such as ASQ, PCA, TPA, Sound Power measurements and other sophisticated techniques.
  • A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering from reputed institutions is required.
  • Excellent academic record, ideally with a GATE score above 90%, and from premier institutes like IITs or reputed regional government engineering colleges is preferred.
