Job Title: Chemical Plant Operations Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chemical Plant Operations Specialist. As a key member of the operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our chemical plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify and resolve equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize maintenance workflows and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment logs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for procurement of materials and technical support.
  • Monitor and improve maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Provide training and supervision to maintenance technicians and contractors as needed.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform routine maintenance on reactors, pumps, filters, centrifuges, agitators, valves, and other equipment.
  • Respond to mechanical breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Operate utility equipment such as compressors, boilers, and cooling towers.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines (GPCB/CPCB).
  • Coordinate with stores for spare parts and contractors when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering in a chemical, petrochemical, dyes, pharma, or process plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, PLCs, and control systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical seals, piping, and utilities.
  • Ability to work in shifts and handle on-site emergencies.
  • Proven safety consciousness and practical approach to plant operations.
  • Understanding of safety standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.) and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily working on-site in a chemical plant environment.
  • May require occasional extended hours or emergency call-ins.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
