Job Overview

The Duty Chef will be responsible for ensuring all food preparation and presentation meet the highest culinary standards established by the Company. This includes close cooperation with the Production Manager/NPD Chef/Production Chef and other section heads involved to create effective communication.

The successful candidate will assure date making is practiced at all times, control and direct staff to achieve maximum effectiveness, ensure approved methods of food-handling are followed by all staff, and maintain the cleanliness of the production and food storage area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet the highest culinary standards.
  • Closely cooperate with the Production Manager/NPD Chef/Production Chef and other section heads involved.
  • Advise and propose new ideas to utilize food economically and suggest new products.
  • Assure date making is practiced at all times.
  • Control and direct staff to achieve maximum effectiveness.
  • Ensure approved methods of food-handling are followed by all staff.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the production and food storage area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary/Cookery or a related field.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of direct experience in Ready-to-eat Food Manufacturing Frozen/Ambient, Catering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and safety.
  • Ability to work shifts and control staff.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Familiarity with food hygiene and HACCP knowledge.
