SAP HANA Database Administrator

Job Title: SAP HANA Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled and result-driven professional to fill the role of SAP HANA Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP HANA Database architecture, excellent analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities, as well as technical expertise in database administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high availability of systems by overseeing performance monitoring, tuning, backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
  • Manage installation, patching, and upgrade activities efficiently.
  • Responsible for message processing, technical incident management, service/change request management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with international teams to drive global knowledge transfer and documentation.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for customers and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Supervise juniors and trainees to foster learning and growth.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP HANA DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA Database architecture.
  • Basic understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of HANA backup and recovery concepts using both traditional and Backint methods.
  • Expertise in monitoring alerts from HANA Studio and taking necessary actions.
  • Managing audit logs and enabling logs for user activities.
  • Enabling/disabling different types of traces for performance analysis.
  • Performing end-to-end system health checks.
  • HANA user management experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for backup-recovery, memory, CPU utilization, and database performance tuning.
  • Expertise in HANA parameter configuration changes.
  • Executing backup recovery and point-in-time recovery for both MDC and Non-MDC systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrating strong analytical skills, technical affinity, and a customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends or public holidays when required.
