SQL Database Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with database administration, server configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Database Administration: Install, upgrade, and migrate SQL Servers to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Server Configuration: Configure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server databases to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Alert System: Set up automated alerts to notify the team of any issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing impact on business operations.
  • Incident Resolution: Work on incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets related to SQL Server databases, applying technical expertise to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintenance Planning: Create maintenance plans for backups, database integrity checks, rebuild indexes, update statistics, and ensure smooth execution of all jobs to maintain data integrity and system stability.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and resolve them to prevent system crashes and data corruption.
  • Collaboration: Participate in bridge calls to troubleshoot and resolve P1 (SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Hands-on Experience: Possess hands-on experience with Always On and DB Mirroring, applying knowledge to design and implement high-availability solutions.
  • Schema Changes: Execute schema changes and maintain a controlled development environment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Server Optimization: Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Deployment: Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production environments, following established best practices and quality control measures.
  • Performance Tuning: Work on performance tuning tasks like creating missing indexes, optimizing queries, and improving overall system performance.
  • Shift Work: Willingness to work in 24X7 projects, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Scripting: Experience in scripting using Perl, PowerShell, applying automation to streamline repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
  • CLOUD Computing: Experience in AWS/Azure, designing and implementing cloud-based solutions to meet business needs.

Preferred Certifications:

  • SQL Server certifications.
  • Experience in SQL Cloud-based solutions.
