Senior Financial Data Engineer

This is a critical role for building and scaling modern financial data platforms.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing data warehouse solutions in Snowflake, ensuring performance and scalability for finance and accounting workloads.

Additionally, the candidate will build and maintain dbt models and transformations that enable clean, governed, and auditable financial data flows.

The role also involves implementing data pipelines that source from ERP and finance systems to support revenue recognition, reconciliations, and accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Snowflake Data Engineering: Develop and optimize data warehouse solutions in Snowflake for finance and accounting workloads.
  • dbt Development: Build and maintain dbt models and transformations for financial data flows.
  • Financial Systems Integration: Implement data pipelines that source from ERP and finance systems.
  • ETL/ELT Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake and dbt.
  • Data Quality & Compliance: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial data to support audit and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles, preferably with financial systems.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, performance tuning, and secure data sharing.
  • 2+ years of dbt experience (building models, transformations, testing, and documentation).
  • Strong SQL development skills with focus on efficiency and maintainability.
  • Experience working with financial or accounting data, translating business requirements into data pipelines.
  • Understanding of accounting concepts and ability to partner with Finance/Accounting teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
