Job Opportunity for Lighting Designer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lighting Designer to create innovative lighting layouts and designs.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing lighting concepts, creating 3D renderings, and managing lighting projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate should have strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Lights Design: Ability to calculate luminous output, make layout plans, work drawings, and documentation of the lighting applications.
  • Rendering Skills: Ability to edit 3D renderings to show simulated lighting scenes of the design intent.
  • Research: Research new lighting solutions and innovations.
  • Simulation: Using Dialux Evo & Photoshop, to do lighting simulations for presentation, reports as a project requirement, and for validation of the design proposed.
  • Project Management: Lighting project management and site coordination.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate projects with Architects, Designers, and Clients on-site and remotely.
  • Installation: Manage, coordinate, and supervise the installation of the light fixtures to meet the client's expectations when needed.

The key measures of success include maintaining strong relationships with architects, delivering flawless designs, following design philosophy, meeting deadlines, design thinking excellence, storytelling around the lighting design, innovative lighting design ideas, and collaboration with a cross-functional team.

Education

A degree in lighting design or architecture is required, along with minimum three years of professional experience in lighting design and/or architecture.

Skills and Tools

Proficiency in Adobe CC (especially InDesign & Photoshop), AutoCAD, Dialux, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary.
