Backend Software Developer

Job Overview:

  • As a member of an agile team, you will contribute to user story analysis and elaboration designs and develop responsive web applications using the best engineering practices.
  • You will perform hands-on software development, spending most of your time writing code and unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, doing code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
  • Developing a deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains is crucial.
  • Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable web applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in Java and demonstrating good Java knowledge.
  • Able to demonstrate good web fundamentals and HTTP protocol knowledge.
  • Good attitude, communication, willingness to learn, and collaborate.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing including frameworks such as Selenium, WebDriverIO, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.
  • 3-4 yrs working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.
  • Solid Understanding of distributed systems.

Desirable Skills:

  • Recent experience working in JavaScript on Node.js stack is a plus.
  • 5 yrs experience developing java applications in frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Dropwizard is a plus.
