Key Role

Develop ETL Workflows

  • Extract Transform Load Data: Build and optimize data pipelines using IBM DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouse environments.
  • Optimize SQL Queries: Write complex and optimized SQL queries in Teradata for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • Data Integration Solutions: Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand requirements and implement data integration solutions.
  • Data Quality Checks: Perform manual and automated data quality checks, including validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with QA teams and perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and ETL job failures.
  • Reusable Components: Develop reusable DataStage job components and ensure adherence to data modeling and warehousing best practices.
  • ETL Job Management: Monitor ETL jobs and manage dependencies using job sequencers or orchestration tools.
  • Documentation: Document ETL workflows, metadata mappings, and data dictionaries.

Required Expertise:

  • IBM DataStage Development: 4-6 years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage development.
  • Teradata SQL Skills: Strong SQL skills with Teradata (or other data warehouse platforms).
  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Understanding of data warehousing concepts: star/snowflake schema, SCD, data marts, fact/dimension tables.
  • Programming Knowledge: Basic programming knowledge in Python, Shell scripting, or Unix/Linux environments.
  • Data Validation Techniques: Experience with manual data validation and data profiling techniques.
  • Job Orchestration Tools: Familiarity with job orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or DataStage Job Sequencer.
