Job Title: Digital Transformation Specialist

This position involves working with a leading technology company to develop and implement their API platform.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our APIGEE Platform Engineering team. The successful candidate will have expertise in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid runtime environments on Kubernetes clusters, as well as automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Helm charts.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Bash/Shell scripting and Python for automation tasks, and will be proficient in Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, GKE, and Cloud Storage.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage cloud-native infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and governance across multiple cloud platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage hybrid runtime environments on Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, or on-prem Kubernetes)
  • Perform installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance of APIGEE Hybrid and APIGEE X environments
  • Manage APIGEE runtime components, including Message Processors, Synchronizers, and Cassandra clusters within Kubernetes
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Terraform and Helm charts
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash/Shell and Python to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks
  • Collaborate with API teams to support API proxy deployments, troubleshoot runtime issues, and optimize platform performance
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for APIGEE platform deployments and API lifecycle management
  • Monitor platform health, capacity planning, and perform troubleshooting for runtime and infrastructure issues
Requirements:
  • APIGEE Expertise:
    • Strong experience with APIGEE Hybrid platform deployment and runtime management
    • Familiarity with APIGEE X and API management concepts (OAuth, JWT, API keys, SSL/TLS)
    • Experience with API proxy development, debugging, and policy implementation
  • Kubernetes & Containerization:
    • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, or on-prem)
    • Proficient in deploying and managing containerized applications using Helm charts
    • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, and service mesh is a plus
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    • Extensive experience with Terraform for provisioning cloud and Kubernetes resources
    • Experience using the Terraform Helm provider to deploy applications on Kubernetes
  • Scripting & Automation:
    • Strong skills in Bash/Shell scripting and Python for automation and operational tasks
    • Experience developing automation pipelines for deployment and monitoring
  • Cloud Platform Experience:
    • Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM)
    • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is a plus
  • DevOps & CI/CD:
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build)
    • Experience integrating APIGEE deployments into automated pipelines
  • Networking & Security:
    • Understanding of network security, firewall rules, VPNs, and cloud security best practices
    • Knowledge of API security standards and compliance requirements
