MEP Design Lead Job Description

JLL is seeking a highly skilled MEP Design Lead to join our Development Advisory Services team. As an MEP Design Lead, you will provide critical inputs on the MEP design of various Asset classes both under construction and completed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on MEP systems design of completed / under construction properties.
  • Offer insightful recommendations for optimized MEP layouts, systems selection, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure that MEP designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, taking into account electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of MEP designs, taking into consideration factors such as HVAC zoning, equipment selection, pipe sizing, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, and water supply systems.
  • Identify potential risks and propose suitable alternatives or modifications.
  • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and other project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design intent and identify any potential design or construction constraints.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in MEP systems design for commercial office spaces.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with teammates and contribute to internal knowledge management initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in MEP systems design for commercial office spaces.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.
  • Proficiency in MEP design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and deliverables.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
