About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to spearhead innovation in machine learning and data analytics. This role involves developing cutting-edge solutions to create our industry-leading map.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a talented team of researchers, developers, and architects to design, build, and deploy applications across multiple environments.

The position requires expertise in process automation, data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis.

  • Design and develop scalable Big Data infrastructure employing machine learning techniques.
  • Build and test analytic models to improve internal data-driven processes for map-making decisions and system control needs.
  • Act as an expert and evangelist in areas of data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis.
  • Lead predictive modeling or application teams on Core Map projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • Minimum 7+ years related professional experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge in one or more data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis packages and associated scripting languages such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, etc.
  • Programming experience with SQL, shell script, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development experience with Scala.
  • Development experience with Docker.
  • Development experience with GIS data.
  • Development experience with NoSQL (i.e. DynamoDB).
