About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer to join our team at Thomson Reuters. As a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, including AWS, and lead the implementation of cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-based systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards for cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead the analysis and design of complex cloud-based solutions and requirements definition.
  • Provide direction into standards and procedures for monitoring, capacity planning, tuning, maintenance, performance optimization, backups and recovery.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer who has a strong background in cloud infrastructure, including AWS. You should have excellent technical skills, including knowledge of cloud security and best practices. You should also have strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.

Key qualifications include:

  • BS or MS degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of employment with cloud experience.
  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP and HTTP.
  • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS docker in AWS, S3, VPC, Route53, ALB, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Experience working with.Net and JAVA environments at an enterprise scale.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and best practices.
  • Good Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Windows or Linux server administration skills.
  • Experience with security concepts in cloud and on the operating system.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and pipeline development.
  • Experience with OS patch management and patch automation.
