Job Overview

The position of SAP ILM/Archiving Solution Architect is open for those with a deep understanding of data archiving and SAP systems.

This role requires the ability to design, implement, and support complex SAP landscapes, including Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and data archiving strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement retention management strategies, including legal hold, case management, and blocking within ILM.
  • Execute decommissioning projects, ensuring compliance with data retention and audit requirements.
  • Assess the impact of archiving on business processes and system performance.
  • Implement standard and custom archive objects, including purging and hybrid DVM solutions.
  • Manage metadata and ADK file handling, ensuring integrity and accessibility.
  • Conduct assessments to identify opportunities and define archiving strategies.
  • Troubleshoot archiving issues and provide solutions for open item closures.
  • Integrate nearline storage with archive servers and SAP systems, including administration and support.
  • Utilize PBS tools for enhanced archiving capabilities.
  • Prior experience with SAP Legal Hold, Case Management, and ILM Blocking in S/4HANA environments is necessary.
  • Experience in SAP Data Volume Management (DVM), including at least 1 year in an S/4HANA environment is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SAP RISE Clean core methodology.
  • Experience integrating SAP with external content and archive servers.
  • Hands-on experience with document archiving scenarios and content server migrations.
  • Familiarity with SAP NSE and data aging strategies.
