Job Title: Principal Bridge Design Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bridge design specialist to join our team. As a key member of our structural engineering department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality bridge design solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to undertake assessments of existing bridges and prepare assessment reports, utilizing your expertise in steel composite and pretension/posttension structures.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for:

  • Conducting feasibility studies for strengthening and repair
  • Preparing new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards
  • Assisting in the preparation of drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines

You will work closely with our team of senior engineers and principal engineers to ensure that all projects are completed to the highest standard. We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to adapt to changing project requirements.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Extensive experience in bridge design
  • Expertise in Eurocodes and UK CEng
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions

A degree in civil engineering or a related field is essential, as is membership of a professional engineering institution such as ICE or IStructE.
