About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled data engineer to join our team focused on advancing cloud-first strategies and driving growth in Microsoft's core businesses. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and building efficient data pipelines, developing strong relationships with developers, and exploring cutting-edge technology stacks.

This role involves working closely with multiple engineering teams within and outside the Azure division to provide key metrics about cloud adoption across Microsoft. Our analysis services and machine learning models help answer important questions, inform internal business decisions, and improve customer and partner business models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and build an efficient data pipeline that can test and deploy high-quality data into production at scale.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with developers on multiple engineering teams within and outside the Azure division.
  • Technology Exploration: Explore cutting-edge technology stacks, platforms, and workflow tools to improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a data engineer in a data-focused role for shipped software products or services.
  • Professional software development experience using C, Java, C++, Python, or other applicable programming languages.
  • Familiarity with common data technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Scala, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have experience with professional software development, data technologies, and be familiar with cloud computing principles.
