Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and creative individual to fill the role of Design Consultant. As a Design Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing expert advice on interior design solutions.

You will work closely with clients to understand their design needs and preferences, and collaborate with our in-house design team to create tailored solutions that meet their requirements.

Your primary goal will be to increase sales revenue by upselling and cross-selling our premium furniture products, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Provide expert advice on interior design solutions to clients
  • Work closely with clients to understand their design needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with in-house design team to create tailored solutions
  • Upsell and cross-sell premium furniture products to clients
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Engagement & Consultation
  2. Greet walk-in customers and provide a warm, informed, and design-focused showroom experience
  3. Understand client requirements (residential or commercial) and recommend relevant furniture and decor options
  4. Educate clients about customization possibilities—finishes, dimensions, materials, and upholstery
  5. Design-Sales Alignment
  6. Create basic layout suggestions, mood boards, or reference visuals using in-house design resources
  7. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure feasibility of custom requirements
  8. Assist in generating quotes, visualizations, and technical inputs for the sales team
  9. Follow-ups & Conversion
  10. Maintain timely follow-ups with leads via phone/email
  11. Convert inquiries into qualified leads for the sales team or project onboarding
  12. Track client visits and feedback in CRM or sales records
  13. Showroom Coordination
  14. Ensure the showroom is maintained as a premium design environment
  15. Stay updated with new arrivals, bestsellers, and inventory updates
Requirements:
  • Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design or consultative retail (furniture/home decor)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong aesthetic sense with working knowledge of design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, or equivalent is a plus)
  • Ability to understand and explain technical product details and material specifications
