Job Title: Data Systems Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled data systems architect to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data systems that support millions of customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud-native data systems using best practices for high availability, security, performance, and scalability.
  • Plan and deploy database infrastructure, including upgrades and migrations as needed.
  • Expertise in Aurora PostgreSQL database performance and scalability, complex query tuning, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Contribute to infrastructure changes on AWS with a deep understanding of AWS services.
  • Manage complex data replication environments serving batch and real-time use cases.
  • Engage in on-call rotations for production systems and respond to incoming alerts.
  • Collaborate on major system upgrades, deployment automation, monitoring enhancements, and production changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on development and operational experience with Postgres (AWS Aurora Postgres).
  • Experience with AWS Data Migration Service.
  • Extensive performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of hosting on cloud and experience with AWS services.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for DevOps automation such as Java, Python, or Shell.
  • Docker and Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
