We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our dam break analysis and emergency planning initiatives.

Job Description:
  • Act as subject matter expert for dam break analysis and inundation mapping.
  • Prepare Tier-I documents following national guidelines and international best practices.
  • Provide technical support for Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings.
  • Review and finalize plans presented in project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs.
  • Assist in finalizing integrated operations of important or cascade reservoirs.
  • Conduct need-based flood routing studies to determine routed floods for specific reservoirs.
  • Conduct dam safety inspections and manage related documentation.
  • Develop and implement training calendars and schedules.
  • Provide inputs for revision and formulation of guidelines related to dam safety and EAPs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling, as well as expertise in MIKE, HEC_HMS, or other advanced modelling tools. They should have a strong understanding of flood routing, dam break analysis, and inundation mappings.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings and provide technical support to project teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Hydraulic or Hydrology
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling
  • Expertise in MIKE, HEC_HMS, or other advanced modelling tools
