Job Title: AI Applications Engineer

We are seeking a skilled AI applications engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience in configuring and managing data privacy controls, as well as implementing robust guardrails and moderation tools to enhance the security and reliability of AI applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive audit logs, compliance reporting, and monitoring for AI usage to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Implement fine-tuned safety layers to prevent the training of AI models on sensitive data and enforce zero-retention policies.
  • Track and analyze model performance and usage metrics, producing regular reports for leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Optimize prompt engineering and evaluate cost/performance trade-offs to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to API calls, latency, and integration failures, ensuring seamless operation of AI tools.
  • Maintain detailed documentation with setup/configuration steps, governance rules, and best practices for AI tool management.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases and wikis for developers and end users to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Deliver training sessions for IT staff to expand their expertise in managing AI tools and ensure comprehensive admin coverage.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for AI-related incidents, providing expert-level support and resolution.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in AI applications engineering or a related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools, particularly OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy controls and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in configuring and managing AI tool environments securely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience delivering training and creating documentation.
