Procurement Scheduler Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on capacity requirements to achieve short-term production volumes, including making recommendations to business unit managers on overtime needs.
  • Identify root causes of issues and recommend corrective actions affecting short-term production plans.
  • Provide information as necessary to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for on-time delivery, customer service, inventory, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure fulfillment of company KPIs for on-time delivery above 95%.
  • Interact with suppliers post-order placement for various activities.
  • Kick off meetings, schedules, and approval of inspection plans.
  • Monitor control of activities at suppliers, resolve technical queries, and initiate visits to suppliers periodically to verify progress and initiate corrective/mitigating actions.
  • Coordinate with QA for arranging inspections and initiating shipments after clearance.
  • Coordinate with stores/project manager/shipping/logistics teams for collection/dispatch to locations.
  • Prepare reports for submission to internal and external stakeholders on prescribed forms.
  • Notify key stakeholders in a timely manner if critical equipment delivery is delayed.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide manufacturing delivery updates.
  • Contribute inputs for improving future material management to enhance control plans and procedures.
  • Assist in defining, implementing, maintaining, and developing continuous improvement initiatives to improve QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
  • Prepare reports for future improvements.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement functions for bought-out components from related industries/original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), auto industry, etc.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mech/Electrical) preferred.
  • APICS or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) credential as a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Practical expertise in office systems such as Excel, Word, and ERP tools like SAP.
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization.
  • Analytical mindset, ability to formalize, structure, and rigorously work towards meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and comfort analyzing situations at vendors' places.
  • Highly developed positive critical sense: ability to assess data relevance and cross-check/contextualize it with other information to verify its plausibility.
  • Ability to take initiative, agility in a changing professional environment.
  • Diplomacy, good communication skills, both oral and written, and ease dealing with all types of interlocutors.
  • Very good team spirit and willingness to contribute to the team.
  • Reliability, integrity, honesty, discretion.
  • Comfortable working in an international environment and multicultural aspects.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; fluency in other languages is a plus.
