Employment Lawyer

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced lawyer to join our Employment Law practice. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Indian labour laws, strong client advisory skills, and the ability to lead high-impact mandates across sectors.

This is a challenging role for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, advisory-heavy environment, and is ready to take the lead on complex employment law matters including compliance, advisory, investigations, and contentious issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise domestic and multinational clients on a wide range of employment and labour law issues including:

• Employment contracts, HR policies, compensation structures, and termination matters.

• Industrial disputes, disciplinary proceedings, and employee misconduct.

• POSH compliance and internal investigations.

• Labour law audits and due diligence for M&A transactions.

• Workforce structuring, transfers, and retrenchment strategy.

• Represent clients before labour authorities, tribunals, and other forums as necessary.

• Draft and negotiate employment-related documentation and settlement agreements.

• Stay abreast of developments in Indian employment law and contribute to knowledge management initiatives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including litigation, corporate, and compliance teams.

• Supervise and mentor junior associates in the practice.

Candidate Profile

• LL.B. from a reputed Indian law school.

• 7–12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a top-tier law firm or leading in-house legal department.

• Strong command of Indian labour laws, industrial regulations, and case law developments.

• Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.

• Experience in handling sensitive investigations and employment litigation preferred.

• Business-oriented mindset with excellent client-handling skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments independently and under deadlines.

• Team player with a collaborative working style.
