Job Description

The Cognitive Search Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design and implementation of intelligent search and discovery solutions. This position empowers natural language insights from structured and unstructured data, reports, and dashboards.

This is an on-site opportunity based in Hyderabad, India, with the possibility of remote work arrangements and occasional travel to our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cognitive Search Solution Design: Architect and implement cognitive search solutions using Azure Cognitive Search and related AI services.
  • Data Ingestion and Indexing: Build pipelines to ingest, index, and enrich data from diverse sources (databases, reports, documents).
  • Natural Language Query Capabilities: Enable natural language query capabilities for business users to interact with enterprise data.
  • Advanced Insights: Integrate semantic search, embeddings, and generative AI techniques for advanced insights.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with business teams to define use cases in finance, operations, and reporting.
  • Partner with Data Teams: Partner with data lake and ADF pipeline teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Agile Delivery: Adopt agile, iterative delivery to validate and scale solutions rapidly.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance, data security, and ethical AI usage in search solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience: Strong experience with Azure Cognitive Search, Cognitive Services, and AI/ML frameworks.
  • SQL and Data Modeling: Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and data integration for search indexing.
  • Embeddings and NLP: Familiarity with embeddings, NLP, and vector search technologies.
  • Search Solutions and BI Tools: Experience connecting search solutions to BI tools, reports, and dashboards.
  • Data Governance: Strong understanding of data governance and enterprise data management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience: 7–10 years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in cognitive search/NLP solutions.
  • CLOUD and Modern Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with Azure cloud ecosystem, Snowflake/Synapse, and modern data platforms.
