The Firm's risk management function plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective risk policies and procedures.

Job Description

Risk Management:

  • Coordinating with the wider organisation to ensure the Firm's risk policies and procedures are being appropriately implemented by the matter opening team.
  • Conducting in-depth checks to identify risk issues relevant to clients and matters, mitigating potential risks when possible and escalating any issues as required.
  • Collecting and evaluating due diligence information from both new and existing clients, in line with the Firm's policies, processes and relevant legal regulations and guidelines.

Administration:

  • Ensuring that all records, both paper and electronic, are filed and maintained to a high standard.
  • Managing the opening and maintaining of client/matter files.

General:

  • Interfacing with the India and UK teams and managing relationship with the Group Chief Risk Officer.
  • Working to tight deadlines with a flexible attitude to working overtime on the few occasions when an urgent matter may require it.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Finance/Law/Risk Management or Equivalent; CAMS certified preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 10+ Years of experience, out of which at least 4 years in people leadership, in areas such as Risk Management, AML, Financial crimes.
  • Minimum of 2-3 year experience in handling AML and financial crime related queries within a legal or regulated environment, of which at least 1 year should be in a team leadership role.
  • High proficiency with Intapp and financial crime databases such as World Check.
  • Familiarity with UK money laundering regulations and relevant regulatory guidance.
