Financial Services Director

The role of a Senior Financial Services Specialist is to oversee the preparation and review of complex financial services client returns, focusing on Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Fund of Funds, blocker corporation returns, and S-Corporation returns. This involves conducting thorough reviews of state returns for financial services clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
The specialist will also be responsible for identifying international filing requirements by studying organizational charts and reviewing international tax returns. Additionally, they will provide training and feedback to new joiners on concepts, technology, and reviewed projects.
Supervision and guidance are key aspects of this role, including supervising kick-off calls to understand clients, facilitating regular connects with US counterparts, and intervening in budget conflicts, resource scheduling issues, etc.
Mentorship is also an essential part of this position, recruiting, training, evaluating, and mentoring team members to achieve organizational goals.
This role requires strong communication skills, both written and spoken, as well as fluency in English. The ability to conduct independent tax research, adapt to changing situations, and prioritize tasks efficiently is crucial.
A high level of time management, multitasking, and leadership skills are required to succeed in this role. Collaboration and relationship building with peers, supervisors, and colleagues in the US are also vital.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation and Review of Financial Services Client Returns: Prepare and review complex financial services client returns.
- Detailed State Return Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of state returns for financial services clients.
- International Filing Requirements: Identify international filing requirements.
- Training and Feedback: Train new joiners on concepts, technology, and reviewed projects.
- Supervision and Guidance: Supervise kick-off calls, facilitate regular connects, and intervene in conflicts.
- Tax Adjustments and E-Filing Validations: Guide staff/seniors on potential tax adjustments and e-filing validations.
- Recruitment, Training, and Performance Evaluation: Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor team members.
- Team Development and Communication: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improve work quality.
- Training and Material Development: Facilitate training sessions and develop training materials.
