Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of complex systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative designs that meet or exceed technical specifications, with an emphasis on manufacturability, integration readiness, and cross-functional collaboration.

Main Responsibilities:

  • CAD-Based Design & Ownership:
    • Develop and maintain complex CAD models, system layouts, and 3D model integrity across revisions using advanced parametric CAD tools.
    • Drive modular and scalable design practices that align with product architecture.
  • TAD (Tooling & Assembly Definition):
    • Prioritize tooling and assembly strategies to ensure seamless integration and ease of maintenance.
    • Prepare assembly BOMs, jigs and fixture interfaces, and support design-to-assembly planning.
  • PLM Integration:
    • Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for version control, workflows, and digital thread management.
    • Familiarity with Windchill PLM or equivalent for part structures, release cycles, and change management.
  • Structural Design & Collaboration:
    • Apply structural analysis fundamentals to optimize designs for safety, reliability, and performance.
    • Collaborate with analysis teams to interpret FEA results and drive design improvements.
  • Material Engineering & Manufacturability:
    • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and reliability using DFM, DFX, and material selection tools.
    • Select suitable materials and processes to meet performance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with systems engineering, integration, sourcing, testing, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products.
    • Take ownership of design deliverables and resolve cross-domain design issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical product design, preferably in aerospace, UAVs, or robotics.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, TAD, and GD&T.
  • Experience in PLM/PDM platforms, ideally Windchill.
  • Exposure to FEA results interpretation and collaborative optimization with analysts.
  • Knowledge of DFX, DFM, and high-performance material-process pairing.
