Job Title: Software Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Specialist to join our Data Warehouse team. This role requires expertise in developing and delivering high-quality features and tasks, as well as building and improving innovative data warehouse offerings.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering. They should be proficient in architecting and implementing workflow management systems, designing and developing data warehouses, and working with containerization and orchestration technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and delivering high-quality features and finishing tasks to a high standard
  • Building and improving our innovative BNL data warehouse offerings using marketing suites
  • Architecting and implementing workflow management systems
  • Designing and developing data warehouses per business nature using modern data warehouses
  • Working with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Building and maintaining Spark applications
  • Providing good quality readable business documentation
  • Focusing on business value vs engineering interest
Required Skills:
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in using Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting with production experience
  • 3 years of proven experience in building cloud-native data-intensive applications, Amazon Web Service experience is a must, and good to have experience in GCP
  • Experience in Databricks and dbt
  • Highly proficient in architecting and implementing workflow management systems using Airflow
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Spark applications
  • Fundamental understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats
  • Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with observability systems such as Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana
  • Strong experience in building CI/CD processes, experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins is good to have
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable providing and receiving constructive feedback, particularly while participating in code reviews
  • Ability to not only code but also provide good quality readable business documentation

As a proactive and service-oriented individual, you will prioritize business value over engineering interest.
