HiLabs is seeking an experienced Assistant Tech Architect to lead the design, optimization, and rollout of scalable platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable architectures for backend systems.
  • Optimize performance, database queries, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Define best practices for microservices, event-driven designs, and service integrations.
  • Continuously improve system design to reduce technical debt and improve maintainability.
Technical Leadership & IC Contributions
  • Drive high-level and low-level system design decisions.
  • Provide hands-on coding and debugging in Java, Python, and Spring Boot.
  • Lead best practices for code quality, system reliability, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct design reviews, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Backend & Data Engineering
  • Develop and optimize microservices and APIs using Java, Python, and Spring Boot.
  • Implement event-driven architectures using AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, or other messaging queues.
  • Build and manage ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration with Airflow.
  • Ensure seamless service-to-service communication across distributed systems.
Cloud & DevOps Strategy
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS Cloud, leveraging EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
Desired Profile
  • 5-8 years of experience in backend development and system architecture.
  • Expertise in Java, Python, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
  • Strong experience with high-level and low-level system design for scalable applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL & NoSQL databases, with performance optimization expertise.
  • Hands-on experience in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of message queues (AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, or equivalent) for event-driven processing.
  • Ability to reduce technical debt, optimize cloud infrastructure, and drive cost-efficient solutions.
