Product Design Director Opportunity at New Relic, Inc.

We are seeking a seasoned Product Design Director to join our team at New Relic, Inc. in Hyderabad, India. As a key member of our UX team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product design vision and driving organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and maintain high standards for user-focused design quality, ensuring measurable improvements in our design scorecards, principles, and system.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with UX leaders, product management, engineering peers, and executives to drive collaborative decision-making.
  • Cultivate a user-centric organization, ensuring positive outcomes and results through informed decision-making using quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Lead and inspire your team, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and innovation, and introducing new ways of working and thinking to impact team effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Create and communicate a strategic vision for your team, empowering managers and connecting individuals to the UX vision and company goals.
  • Communicate progress, user success, and achievements to stakeholders, promoting a design culture of sharing and feedback.
  • Ensure operational health, engaging your team with our evolving career framework, coordinating resources, and balancing creative and user-centric processes in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of relevant design experience, ideally in enterprise software, SaaS B2C or B2B products.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your mentorship and leadership.
  • Adept at delivering high-quality work in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with product experimentation methodologies, lean design, and measuring UX success.
  • Can-do growth attitude, resilience, and ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Experience attracting and hiring top talent, mentoring, and retaining talent.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Experience working with global teams distributed across different time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
Bonus Points:
  • Advanced degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and experience with related platforms AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience designing for data-rich products, incorporating data visualizations.
  • Experience working in SaaS or enterprise software.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Hyderabad, India.
