Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced content editor to refine and enhance the readability of written material.

  • The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and coherence in all edited content.
  • Responsibilities include reviewing text for errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax, as well as allocating print space for story text, photos, and illustrations.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will plan the contents of publications, verifying facts and dates using standard reference sources.
  • They will also review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production.
  • Finally, they will develop engaging story or content ideas that cater to reader appeal.
Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and refine written content: Enhance clarity and coherence through precise editing.
  • Review and correct errors: Detect and rectify mistakes in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Allocate print space: Strategically position story text, photos, and illustrations according to space parameters and copy significance.
  • Plan publication contents: Develop content plans aligning with publication style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
  • Verify facts and dates: Utilize standard reference sources to ensure accuracy.
  • Review and approve proofs: Ensure quality control before publication production.
