Welding Engineering Expert

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineering Expert to join our team at Caterpillar. This is an individual contributor role that will serve as an experienced expert on projects and assignments that are complex in nature and support and enhance Caterpillar product performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to teams involved in weld engineering initiatives.
- Provide regional welding engineering guidance and support.
- Provide welding inspection support and train weld quality teams.
- Lead or contribute to welding research projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary technical teams to provide superior welding process solutions.
- Mentor junior welding engineers.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in GMAW/FCAW with the ability to produce high-quality welds in plate positions.
- An appropriate technical or university degree combined with a minimum of 8 years of relevant welding experience or a minimum of 11 years as a Manufacturing Technician.
- Certified Welding Inspector.
