Purchase Engineer Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Purchase Engineer is to procure raw materials and equipment required for production. This includes mechanical items, fabricated goods, safety items, and other essential materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Item Procurement: Purchase mechanical items such as steel pipes, fittings, and other related equipment from suppliers.
  • Raw Material Sourcing: Identify reliable suppliers for raw materials like SS304/316 steel and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
  • Price Negotiation: Negotiate prices with suppliers to secure the best deals for the company.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS reports to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Skillset: Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and knowledge of procurement processes.
