Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage our big data systems and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create standards for configuring and securing large-scale databases.
  • Administer, maintain, and utilize policies and procedures for ensuring database security and integrity.
  • Develop and implement database performance monitoring processes and analyze monitoring data for optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with IT Risk to ensure sound information protection tools and practices are in place for big data platforms.
  • Create tools to monitor and maintain database configurations to identify drift from standards.
  • Plan and implement changes to databases, such as patches, upgrades, and installation/configuration of related software.
  • Support production DBA teams in daily/emergency procedures to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for engineering and deployment of various technologies, including storage devices, network switches, and database software.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an infrastructure DBA.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Linux administrator.
  • 2+ years of experience in Linux and shell/perl scripting.
  • Strong experience in Teradata performance tuning.
  • Strong expertise/understanding in reengineering system applications and processes (preferred).
  • Strong experience with Teradata backups (BAR).
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and team player.
  • Experience with Teradata utilities and product suite.
  • Strong hands-on experience with system/operations DBA activities (preferred).
