Web Development Department Head

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a web development division, managing a team of frontend/backend developers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Ownership & Delivery: Take ownership of end-to-end website and web app projects, translate briefs, UI/UX designs, and business goals into robust web solutions, ensure timely, bug-free delivery and deployment.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of 3–6 web developers (frontend, backend, full-stack), conduct code reviews, set coding standards, and foster a strong tech culture, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team efficiency.
  • Client Collaboration: Act as technical lead and client-facing SPOC for web-related projects, translate client requirements into technical scope, timelines, and roadmaps, provide proactive updates, documentation, and post-delivery support.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure design fidelity and responsiveness, collaborate with SEO, performance marketing, and branding teams to ensure SEO-ready, fast-loading, scalable websites, guide content and creative teams on what's technically feasible.
  • Code Quality & Infrastructure: Set up scalable architecture, version control (Git), staging environments, and CI/CD pipelines where needed, ensure responsiveness, performance optimization, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards, keep code modular, clean, and well-documented.
Required Skills:

Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js

Backend: Node.js / PHP / Python (any), APIs, REST/GraphQL

CMS: WordPress (with custom theme/plugin dev), Headless CMS (optional)

eCommerce: Shopify, WooCommerce

DevOps: Git, GitHub/GitLab, Vercel/Netlify, cPanel, Docker (optional)

Other: Figma, Postman, Webflow (good-to-have), Firebase, etc.
