Job Title: Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

Our team is seeking a seasoned expert in software development to take on the role of a senior ruby on rails engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable web applications while optimizing legacy codebases for better performance and reliability.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an asynchronous environment, contributing to robust technical solutions and best-in-class development practices.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and maintain high-performance applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Enhance legacy systems by improving their reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Write clean, modular and well-documented code following industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams; contribute to and maintain technical documentation.
  • Design and optimize databases for improved performance and data integrity.
  • Utilize AWS services and Kubernetes (K8s) for deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management.
  • Optionally contribute to projects using Python, React, and TypeScript.
Required Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of professional experience in software development, primarily with Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience working with and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality unit and integration tests.
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote team setting.
  • Strong emphasis on clean code, maintainability, and software design best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a habit of thorough technical documentation.
